Vessel Safety Checks

The vessel safety
check is a complimentary check of your vessel to ensure that it complies
with federal and state regulations. Many items are required by
either the US Coast Guard or by state law. If all requirements are
met, a decal is issued indicating that the vessel has passed the exam.
Items that
are checked include both required and recommended items.
Partial list of
required items:
Registration documentation (required to be carried on board); proper
display of numbers; life jackets and throwable device; fire
extinguisher; distress signals; navigation lights; battery terminal
covers.
Partial list of
recommended items:
Marine radio; anchor and line; first aid kit; inland visual distress
signals; charts; dewatering device (bilge pump or bucket)
To request a courtesy vessel safety
check, call 707-427-8521, or e-mail flotilla5-3@att.net.
